N FLA | Was talking to a friend. Asked if he was going to buy any bred cows this winter to put on his rye cover crop. Said a friend of his was paying $1300-1600 for cows and it was just too risky. I thought well I'm paying 13-16 and didn't think it was too big of deal. UNTIL I was just using the search and found this from 2009!

Coincidentally another friend said the analysts are saying cattle market looks good until 2020 when they get the herd built. I said great I'll keep buying these old cows and they'll be culled out before the market gets bad again. | |
