Computer parts are rated just like cars. Cheap, mid-range, and enterprise class ie: Chevy Spark, Impala and a Mercedes Benz. A $200 laptop is stocked with the cheapest parts. A $750 laptop is stocked with mid-range parts. $1500-2500 and up carries the best stuff. Samsung makes drives and laptops, most others buy parts from subcontractors. My newest $200 laptop carries a dual core 7.5W CPU/GPU it produces almost no heat and has 4GB RAM and a Hitachi 500GB HDD. I stuck a 32GB SD card in it and use it exclusively for turbotax. Now it's screen is crap and must be viewed straight on or forget it. It also cannot drive a FHD (1920x1080) monitor or TV. For $200 and a few hours a year use it's perfect. For stuff that takes a daily pounding I pays more & gets more... |
