We are working with Buzz Kloot on cover crop plot with a summer multi-species mix planted behind corn first week of September and planting wheat first week of November.
Looking at no fertilizer, 30 units nitrogen at planting only, 30 units nitrogen and 30 units phos at planting only, and last treatment full package based off of soil test with top dressing in spring.
Looking at ROI more than yield since that pays the bills.
Using a crowd funding approach to keep it as independent as possible.
Trying to figure out what the summer cover is bringing to the table and the nutrient value of that crop.
