Subject: RE: fuel pump solenoid on an Allis 649 engine

On the top of the injection pump there is a wire connected to a small stud. Loosen the studs nut so you can remove it with your fingers, but leave it connected. Now, turn on the ignition key. Go back and carefully remove the nut and slip off the wire. Each time you reconnect the wire, there should be a small spark and a "click" from the shut-off solenoid inside the pump. No noise ?? make sure there's current at the wire. If so, a bad solenoid under the pumps lid/cover. If no current, there is an electrical issue. No fuse for this circuit.
