Subject: RE: North Dakota corn yields

NE ND
I wouldn't be to quick to think the grass is greener on this side of the fence. I live 60 miles south of Devils Lake. There is nooooo way we average those kind of yields. I have a good neighbor that has grown corn for years and is a very good farmer. I asked him what he would say a "good" over all yield for corn is (I have never raised any). He said he uses 100 when he takes his cash flow to the banker. Sure it may do better in test plots, but 120 would be a very good yield here. 2 years ago when we had possibly the best yields ever, I heard some 135-150. Even those would be only on the best fields.
