| Sorry it does not work for you but it works for us, and we are in NY as well with the same range of soil types. Switched 5 years ago and have seen yields increase, soil health improve, OM increase, compaction decrease, root depth increase and overall plant health improve. Patience is a must and a good cover crop program is also a must. Crop rotation is also key. I was a diehard proponent of full tillage for many years then started experimenting with no-till and slowly switched over to all no-till with the exception of smoothing out ruts where needed, but also found after a few years of no-till the ruts just are not there, might have cleat marks but don't cut the deep ruts anymore like we used to | |
