Subject: RE: Why dekalb sucks

Michigan - Saginaw County
Well, when I read the university trial plots that are run over a multi year period using multiple field plots around the state, the one thing I always notice is that the the killer numbers on farm A can be 4th or 5th down on farm B and a pile of crap on farm C - and vice versa.
And the killer number of last year that was in the top 2 across 4 of 5 farm plots can be barely so-so this year on all the plots.

So those who get on here and foam at the mouth that P is garbage and D is fantastic, and the P guys go ballistic, and then the GL guys chime in, and on and on - ya know what?
They are ALL wrong.
There may be genetic packages that are wrong for your dirt given the weather THIS year.
Next year they may be the best in the county.
If you farm in an arid environment perhaps one company has better genetics for you - and I might have to burn it down and go to beans here in Michigan in a wet year (as I did have to do with one field last year)
