| Years ago they made a single wire heat tape,,,each different area it was in controlled its own heat temp as needed. Didnt short and burn out either like the two wire did. Hence less fire danger.
IF they still make it ,,,its the only way to go. You can buy a temp thermostat to plug into socket then plug tape into it that will adjust when juice is on.
It would be extremely easy to run a circuit wire down there dedicated to the heat tape,,,it would be a great way to do it. Run about twice the wire size you think you will need and a good big breaker even if you have to sub box your main box to do it.
Is this a brand new ,,,hence all new wiring??Or an OLD house with old wire all over inside?(complete with mouse chewings)??? | |
