Mount Vernon, WA | I assumed that your gauge was independent of the ECM when you told me in your original post that the sender for the ECM went bad. Also, whenever a multiplexed gauge loses communication with an ECM, it will typically either stay on zero or peg out. It won't show 50 at idle and 60 cruising. So now I'm really confused.
Finally, why did your mechanic tell you that just because your engine brakes work, that you have good oil pressure? I thought your original concern was that you had too MUCH oil pressure, not too little. It would be pretty irresponsible of me to tell you that your oil pressure is adequate simply because your engine brakes work. | |
