Cleveland, MS. Own small farm near Booneville, MS | I think the 4.7 in my Dodge Dakota is dead. Mechanic who checked it out said #2 has no compression and is pumping air out through the valves and into the crankcase. At least two other cylinders are not firing even though spark plugs and coil pack are good. Don't know what happened. It was running fine when I shut it off but when I started it back up it was missing on three cylinders. Currently planning to put a crate engine in it since none of the salvage yards in my area have an engine that will fit. It only has 127K miles. Wish there was a way to get a small diesel in it. |
