I am guessing your cam tracks are messed up I will ask dad in the morning. He has forgotten more than most people know about those combines.

Just as a tip, run them in low, the ration of sprockets in the chain box will be slower making it less likely to break the chain. Fixing that chain suck but if it wraps the front sprocket and breaks the cast piece--it really, really, REALLY sucks.
