have had 4 winter wheat crops in the last 6 years.   1 was destroyed this april..

it is not insurable.

Its not the winter that killed it, it was the cold snap in April.

Lost 30 bucks an acre this year in seed and planting costs......    4 years ago it put every other crop to shame, including a nice high dollar corn crop.


We dabble in 80 to 100 acres a year.


Putting it in a bin, and hauling to mankato, new prague  or hastings is a no brainer here.  


I would agree some stubble and notill would be a better ticket.
