Subject: I read about that on Farms.Com

Martinsville, Ohio

Question on planted acres, we are down in my area and I can't get a handle on SRWW planted acres.

  • Winter Wheat planted at 76% (last week 68%) vs 77% in the year ago week and the long term average of 77% for this period.
  • Wheat emerged came in at 56%, which was up 13% on the week and 6% ahead of average.

The planting season is over as far as I am concerned, anything now would be a gamble and Ohio is WET.

I don't see how we could have even a half million acres when we have planted near a million a couple of times in the last 10 years.

I have a thousand bu to plant and don't see getting any planted unless we have a dry November which I do not expect.

There is some pretty wheat in my area but I don't see much of it.  So little crop is off and the soil is wet and cold.

Ed
