It always amazes me that you fellows out west spread nitrogen fertilizer in the fall. Here with 16 in of precipitation between now and planting there won't be anything left. The mega dairies spread half a year's manure in the fall specifically because they know it'll all be gone in the spring (aka washed away) and it won't count in their soil analysis so they can double the manure load per acres. In order to maximize use we put nitrogen on at planting and/or sidedress.
