Subject: RE: what makes water fresh?

I only drink our well water after running thru a Brita filter and boiling it in the coffee water heater. All wells, seems even on the same aquifer, here locally have a different taste quality. The well on this farm has bacterial iron and high sulfur content. Though after the treatment system on the well makes it safe, the smell still makes it tough to drink.

In the same manner, all bottled water tastes different. I am accustomed to the cheap stuff from Costco and when I drink a bottle of Evian when on the road and preferring water over pop, I dont care for the Evian. I bought a soda stream and it is ok, but still, once you become accustomed to a certain water, it is naturally difficult to get used to another.

The convenience of bottled water is awesome for some of us. But then, Oregon has a 5 cent deposit on the bottles so it we only pay for the water inside it as long as we return the bottles to get our deposit back and we have not sales tax.
