Subject: RE: finishing holsteins

Camp Douglas Wi. 40miles nw of wi. dells
I have been feeding Holstein steers with whole shelled corn and protein pellets in steer stuffers that I have built myself with help from a carpenter for 44 years, here in Wisconsin there is a lot of Holsteins on steer stuffers. I have been told by one of the protein pellet venders that we (my brother, my son and I) have one of the largest Holstein herds on steer stuffers. I have looked at a lot of commercial built stuffers that are working in feed lots and then came up with my own dezin. Ain't nothing fancy but they work really good. Cannot have to much bunk space, nor have to many steers on to small of bunk space, if that makes any sense. Just stuff I have learned over 44 years of steer stuffing. Edit, just my opinion only, but it works for us here on our farm.
