I am leaving early in the morning for a trip to Canada, upper Manitoba.

I would like to save my batteries, and all the out of country, charges.

I would like to check the time, not expecting any calls, not planning on making any calls.

Should I put the phone in airplane mode? Won't I have some automatic charges if my phone is on crossing the border?

Otherwise, I will leave my phone off. Save it for emergencies.
