Subject: RE: Expanding cow herd

I would like to know for sure myself. I've been reading and hearing a lot of moderating cow size and production to a more optimum level the last ten years or so but without data it's just a guessing game. It makes sense to me that if you keep pushing for more and more production from one cow that at some point the return from inputs starts diminishing. I'm 44 and been around long enough to know you can feed all of your profit up easily, although maybe not in this market, if you're hauling 300.00 calves to town (been there). Optimum production vs. maximum production. Sorry cowguy for the worst highjack ever!
