I've had a link to my bin site up for over a year at 8,000 feet and have another one going for about 6 months that is closer to 9,000 feet.  The 9,000 ft link is 12mb internet service.  It is the fastest this friend has had and response times over the wireless link are nearly identical to the response times on the original fiber connection.
