Even though we could never find an official answer that it would fit on our 8010 we ordered the air intake "product improvement" kit for an 8120 and put it on our 8010 last week.  It fit perfectly according to the instructions even though the corporate guys at CNH said it wouldn't work on an 8010.  The kit moves the air intake to the top of the air box and replaces the aspirator tubes with a rotary precleaner and it's whats used on all of the new Case IH combines.  We cut beans with it for a little over a day now and the air filter is still clean which is longer than we ever made it last year.  It sucks that we had to spend almost $3,500 to fix a problem that the combine has had since it left the factory but at least it's fixed.  The kit was listed as back ordered in the parts system but our dealer had it in 2 days and it took 5-6 hours to install.

glad you found something that finally works. there are a couple more of new series combine improvements, that they say won't work on the 10 or even 20 series.   interesting that they do, and to be honest I guess I don't know why they wouldn't, it's not like they changed things very much physically on those machines.

Thats good to know. What year is your 8010? Would like that for my 2008. Its new to me this year and cleaning the air filter every day is the only thing I don't like about this machine maintenance wise. Thanks.

Looks like a great update, our 7010 is the same way. Blow filter out every day and some days have to put the 2nd one in to finish the day. Will have to look into this update for next year. If you could post the part number that would great.

I wonder why it is taking case so long to catch up to Deere. The filter in the 05 Deere 9660 at work very rarely gets blown out. Been pushin hard and today was the first I have had time to pull it out and clean it. It didn't need cleaned at all

Cliff, thanks for posting. The current air filter, aspirator, venture system is one of dumbest things Case has done. Wish one of their engineers would have to clean the air filter late at night a few times. Seems they plug at least twice a day.
My first Case combine was a 1680. It just had a metal air intake that stuck up a little above the motor. We changed engine oil at 100 hours--and many times the filter didn't need to be blown out between the 100 hour oil changes. This current filter system hasn't worked since our first 2388. Now have a 7120 and it is same basic system. Why Case seems so determined to stick with their poor design is amazing.

it blows your mind
how bad they could design the air intake.
from the 1480 /1680 were ok
then every new model got worse.
half assed cured my 02 2388 . used to plug daily . now it has a spinner and higher intake.
now it will make 100 150- hr.s

what ever you say about a lexion , 570 r this year after 3 years running and
800 acres of peas this year , the air filter plugged the first time.

case can not figure out , you should start with the cleanest air

Part number for this kit is 84478054. Product Improvement Program H1211. MY2011 combines have a different kit. You will have to go into ASSIST to find instructions, they do not come in the box. I guess that's too much to expect for $3k.....
