East central Iowa | No I can't get into the BIOS as it simply stops after about 3 seconds after pushing the power button. I hear the fan run and then zip.
I did remove the CMOS battery and it's a CR2032 which I believe is supposed to be 3 volts. I tested it and it's .47 volts. Normally if the battery is dead the computer still boots and says something to the effect that the BIOS has lost all its settings.
The computer is a Presario V5000, probably 2005 based on the Windows XP media center edition 2005 sticker.
