Little River, TX | I hope this will help a little.
Ten years ago the Central Texas Dairies were being targeted by our friends in charge of a few cities. The Dairies were poisoning the water supplies of these cities.
The Texas Farm Bureau got into the dispute and looked at the fecal bacteria. They decided to collect the evidence and determine the animals who were the prime culprit. Turned out that each animal has it's own unique gut bacteria and the DNA would identify the source.
As you might expect a major portion of the material was from wild life, not dairy cattle. There were domestic animals with out the strict water drainage rules that the dairies had.
What I found interesting was under the rural bridges, including some not so rural bridges had their colony of bats, hanging from the structure. Yes sir bat poo was a contributor to the problem.
So died that effort to shift the blame, to the innocent. | |
