| Well he swaps them back and forth. I don't totally "get" the supermoto thing, outside of they are fun to ride. Take a 220 lb dirt bike that is making 60 horsepower (450cc) that can rev to 13,500 rpm, high performance suspension and they are quick and fun to ride in the twisties, on the converse though they are hard riding for any long trips and because of the high performance engine and suspension they are not as fun for slow speed. These bikes ride better the faster you go and the harder you push them.
Here would be a full race version, some manufactures make OEM supermoto's that are street legal from the factory. Supermoto races are on dirt and pavement with motocross style jumps (dirt jumps and steel jumps). They are very purpose built.
And this particular rider is Jeff Ward (53), which is the kid you see at the beginning of On Any Sunday (1971) doing the wheelie.
