Central Nebraska | To my knowledge there is not any software that can detect actual hackers. Email is generally hacked in one of two ways. The first (and most logical way) is for someone to steal or figure out your password, log on to your account and start doing suspect stuff. The second way is to spoof your email. This means they don't actually get into your account but instead gather enough information to start sending messages that appear to be on your behalf.
There are pieces of software/devices that can detect unusual activity from an email account, but generally it is just looking to see if the messages being sent match certain patterns of know spam or if too many messages are being sent in a certain time period. |
