Definitely old eggs.   We don't let our chickens out until afternoon because we got tired of the Easter egg hunt.    Free range chickens that are out all day will say where ever they want.   We figured that out after a couple weeks and last winter we finally found where some of the girls were laying when we moved bales up in the hay loft.
