NE Iowa | I am going to guess that the owners don't want to rent to you, or do want to rent to their current farmers.
Asking people here will not get answers that are correct... you need to ask them, and each of them will have a unique reason... unless they all know the same thing about you.
I also doubt any land owner that is jealous of what you have would not rent to you... that would be a reason to rent to you. This guy has lots of $, I want some...
I know people from the city that have ground in the country that could be farmed... but they just don't need the $, or the hassel, or people on their ground. Maybe they want it to grow up into trees and watch deer.
