south east SD
I like to run at a angle so I can use the auto steer. Plant with sf-1, its not straight enough to combine and keep the ends off the row. Plus we run a 40 foot planter and a 35 foot bean head. I've looked at what was tipped down by the ends and it doesn't seem bad at all? Coming back seems to tip the beans up and cut them off. Positives-at a angle you use all the cutter bar, the leaves cant ride along to make a pile and letting me cut later without as many issue's. Negatives- you have point rows on both ends all the way across the field, wasting time with a empty header. LOVE not having to steer at night in the dust! I can watch my header and not chase the snaky lands that gets worse and worse ( for me ) as I go across the field. My .02 cents.

Edit to add we are on 30 inch rows.
