Southern Alberta Canada | That's perfectly normal, just think those things are turning over two thousand RPM and are under constant load. They are good for at least two hundred degrees which is the same temperature your engine is meant to run at. Cooler is usually better for gearboxes but they will run for thousands of hours at the temperature your describing easy. If you purchase an infrared heat gun you can use it too check temperature differences between gearboxes to see if you have a potential problem. The gearboxes under the drives will be hotter because they transfer all the power to your cutter assembly of course. | |
