Subject: RE: Combine in Sink Hole--How Did You Do It?

West Ky, on Eddy Creek
I didn't want to tear something up since nothing was damaged yet, and after reading all the advice decided I'd try pulling it with my 7610 mfwd with duals. Dug out just a little behind the tire, but the hole sloped back so if I dug much would have just been further from the tire. Couldn't get under it to dig under the axle but the way it was sitting there was enough gap next to the tire I got a cable looped partly around the end of the front axle and final drive. Ran it straight back so it wouldn't get into anything and hooked it up short to the tractor. Neighbor put the tractor in low and I started easing back. Tractor never did spin, rear combine tires did, but it climbed out.
