SE IL and SW IN | Be very careful with the wheat before corn. Pythium and rhizoctonia are only two of the pathogens that cross the "green bridge" . I would strongly recommend that if you insist on planting wheat as a cover before corn that you kill it at least three weeks before planting the corn.
Or better yet, sell the wheat and buy some Cereal Rye. Diseases are a whole lot less likely to be a problem with rye as a cover.
