I vote bag it, don't let it dam up water, and keep it away from the buildings, but close enought it's not hard to get to in the snow if that makes sense. If you're like us and have sandy soils, you'll still have times and spots where a skidloader might get stuck trying to feed out of a bag. Have a buddy we chop for who has a few more cows than you and me and we make a drive over pile and pack it with a crawler, then drills 3 bpa oats on top for a cover. Says he loses about 4 inches off the top, winter feed only. He tried using bales side the first year and said it spoiled next to the bales and the rats loved the bales.
