blairsville,pa | I've fooled around with starter, foliar feeding, snake oil and about any thing else you can think of. I'm of the opinion that it's all about the variety and the weather. 93M11 is an absolute rock star "here". On my home farm I'm in the 60's every year. "Good for here"
Last year i did a side by side comparison at home and on some poor ground I had just rented. I split a field at each place one side had nothing but innoculant and 200 lb of 5-26-30. Made 64 at home and 38 on the other place. The other half of the test had the same treatment plus 5 gallon 3-18-18 1 gallon of 0-0-25-17 applied as starter and foliared with 2 gallon 3-18-18 and some kinda growth stimulate juice. At home they made 67 and the other place they made 46.
I'm in the camp that clean fields all season and good baseline fertility is enough to be near the top of the bell curve. | |
