20 Miles West of Indianapolis Indiana | this is just an idea, nothing i've done myself so not telling you what to do... concerning the AMS. how about spreading 50# pre plant, then topdressing the rest later on? idea is to keep the beans producing their own nitrogen as long and as good as possible early.
also, beans like micros as well. if your really shooting for top yields, do a soil test concerning micros. Z, B, Mn, seem to be ones to play with.
if you do have problems tho, your not going to correct them in one year.
idk where your at, or if you have a liquid system on your planter or not, but there are some posters on here who LOVE K-Thio (potassium thio-sulfate 0-0-27-17s i believe) might be fun to run a strip of that 2x2 also.
i don't think stuff like innoculants can hurt anything accept your checkbook... so as far as doing a 20 acre test. i don't think it would harm the bean yields and could help. some believe strongly in them, and others keep the $ in their checkbooks and apply it to other items, like more fert and tile. |
