Yes I like that earlage feed too. It's easy to work with when changing around rations. We stopped doing earlage when we stopped using the hansen silos 7 years ago. That was just awesome feed coming out of there. We put up the earlage with a jd 3960 and 3 row narrow 343 corn head. The last year we did 200 acres that way. For one year we owned a 5200 fwd and put a 443 corn head on it for earlage. It took a ton of pwer and fuel because of the 1 inch recutter screen in it. Sold that and went back to the pull type. 4 years ago we bought a 5820fwd and tried running a 6 row ih head on it. That was also slow and we had alot of trouble with the ih head in green corn compared to the john deere heads. We ended up using the pull type 3960 again to finish. The following year bought a 10 ft. kemper head for 5820 to chop my 15 inch corn silage. Very very slow do to the volume and tonnage coming in. So gave that idea up and sold both choppers and heads and all the badger wagons and hired garvo the last 3 years to make our feed. We would love to get back to making earlage and doing it with an oufit like you got there. No more wagons, just chop right into our big manure spreaders. For this year again it will be silage in one bunker and high moisture corn run through our tub grinder and 1 inch screen in other bunker. Will harvest with 2388 and 8 row head. However the ration gets wetter then maybe should when also using syrup and gluten feed.
