Beresford, SD | Feeding a 60 right now. (give or take) 200# core flex, 5000 HM rolled corn out of bags, 1500 Mod, 500 ground alfalfa, 2500 corn silage....feeding off back of pile so its last years silage. (fully fermented) Going to step up to a 61-62 in the next week to hammer on them the last 45-60 days. Plan on phasing out the silage and replace it with earlage. When harvest is done plan on having 2200 ton of silage, 20,000 bushels equivalent of earlage, 16,000 of HM rolled bagged corn and about 34,000 bushels of dry corn in the bin. Plus dry alfalfa and grass hay.
Did earlage in 2008 and 2009. I hired it done then....always got done too dry and smelled like old earcorn out of a crib. Quit earlage for a few years and now got my own machine set up to do it.
