Between Omaha and Des Moines, 7 miles South of I80

Will you get brakes, for your running gear?

Are you in hilly country? ( I could see in flat ground, this wouldn't be a big deal, for your short haul distance)

I've always heard, those older trucks weren't that great in the "brake dept."

Dad mentioned a neighbor, a few years ago, got sued, for his local part-time retired helper, didn't anticipate his "Stopping distance" with a 350-400 bu load of corn, in one of these old 1970s trucks, and injured a person in a car.

I've heard stories, were a guy missed a gear, on a downshift; BUT the truck's brakes couldn't hold a full load on the hill, and it just starts rolling backwards. Heard the hired man, just baled out the door, and let truck go. Later, heard the owner didn't tell the "new" hired man, beforehand, to choose a low gear, and never shift, going up some of this steep hills. (Again, one of these older trucks)
