Based on the Planting Intentions Survey that we did with our clients we feel that there was were large decline in corn acres like you eluded in your post (although FSA is not without their challenges). The markets and economics for was telling many farmers not to plant corn and it is looking that way for next year as well. Regardless of the overall acres we will see a relatively high total production but with a potential significant change in total production and economics looking forwards we may not be in as bad of a corn situation as some have thought. Also, these crops are not in the bins yet and there are productions problems out there.
