| Former co-worker donated a kidney to his brother 20 plus years ago. First time I saw him without a shirt, it looked like someone tried to cut him in half. He has a scar around the mid section that went at least 2/3 the way around. He said that they had to open him up that way to hook the plumbing from the removed kidney to the one he still had.
He said his brother had like a 4 inch scar.
Like I said, that was a long time ago and I am sure the proceedure had changed.
