There is more to life than politics and political viewpoints aren't really much of anything.

This summer, my wife had a small get together with a couple of her schoolmates and they invited their husbands along. One of the guys is a very talented and bright fellow, and also pretty conservative. The other guy, I suspect leans conservative, was a successful but now retiring insurance agent, and then there was me. The conservative brought up something political and the insurance guy just said, "Oh I never talk politics." I suspect, being in the business he was in, he had plenty of occasions to use that line and was the smart thing to do. So, we talked about other things and there was plenty of other subjects and we all enjoyed our conversation while the ladies chatted about old times.

Besides, at our ages, no one thing anyone can say will be so profound as to make anyone change their opinions that have been formed by a lifetime of our own observations and experiences.
