Subject: use Proxy Servers for privacy

While another poster indicated TOR may attract the attention of the feds, you may wish to consider using proxy server(s) to "tunnel" through the internet to your intended target.

What happens is your computer's IP address is hidden since your computer is talking to a server, which relays your request to the web-site. It's very similar to what happens with your home or office router: Your router is directly connected to the internet, with a single IP address - as example 10.10.10.10. However, if you look on your computer's IP addy, it's perhaps something like 192.168.17.2 - your router's translating your web-site requests to the computer wanting to see a certain web-page.

Similarly, a couple thousand or more computer users check into a proxy server, which then handles your computer's web-page requests. The authorities will see your activity, but only back as far as the proxy server.

Thus, you can use your familiar Firefox or Internet Exploder with comfort.
