Memphis, NY | Grandpa bought 60 acres of fallow ground (orchard, brush, and rock) around 1985. He paid $6,000 for it. I can remember steering his 4010 while my father and uncles picked stone into the bucket. I would have been about 5. The rear end locked up on the tractor when we pulled onto the road after we finished.
Five years ago, that land sold for $400,000 to settle Grandma's estate. My Mother's family hasn't been the same, since. | |
