$2 live weight equals about $3.20 hanging weight if you figure 62% dress percentage. I think your price of $3 is more than fair. We messed up and priced ours too early this year...we are getting more with commercial sales than for freezer beef. We are charging $2.55 hanging weight this year, and the customer pays all processing. We deliver free to the slaughter plant. Our last load of fats brought 2.65 on the rail sold through Producers to Meyer. If the price of fats stays high, we will be closer to $3 next year.
