North Central Kansas | You did the right thing by closing. I think my comment in the last post was to ask yourself if we are just maintaining a building and paying a pastor's salary? Churches should be open if they have a future. It's not about the past it's about the future. This will be more common so you all better put your big boy hat on and be ready to deal with it. Too many churches in my area are based on social economic status not the biblical teachings of Jesus Christ. This turns away younger people that are not of the acceptable status. So as long as the core families have the money to keep it open, it'll be open.
There really are others that should close to merge their financial and human resources to really do something special and meaningful, not just barely meet a budget. | |
