Macon, IL | I won't say "till its gone"-but I have planted before where it was questionable on paper and worked out ok. Not going ot walk away from farms/good landlords that have made me good money last 6 years because next fall prices are not guaranteeing a profit. I will cut my costs to the bone-changing rotation a bit-putting wheat on least profitable acres instead of corn-and hope to break even.
To walk away I would have to pay back CSP contracts, give up future ones, restart my long term cover crop studies-etc. Then all of a sudden when it is profitable again go back to try and find ground to rent again?
