near dyersville iowa | I dont know if I agree its not worth fixing. A local implement has sold a fair amount of bearings to people who wish to fix them. Maytag makes you buy the whole drum to get the bearing. I think around $300. Bearing itself iirc was about 30, but you have to be able to press it on the shaft. One local repairman was charging around 150 for the bearing and installation. That was if you took your washer apart yourself.
On the other hand, Speed Queen is a very good washer. Made in Wisconsin. Every part of it is good quality. I dont know how the company is going to last if they dont force you to replace their product every 5 years...lmao. | |
