Yes warm Epsom salts would b good. I'd try to keep him off of it too. With his size his weight could rebreak anything that heals. I had a client that had a Maltese that got hit. Injured his hind leg and pelvis. No money for surgery so the vet said crate him for 6weeks. Out to go to bathroom only. He healed just fine
