Coles County, Illinois | Since you don't have any GPS stuff now you have two choices. Either find a dealer that has good on-farm support or realize that it's going to take some time to get up to speed with this technology. A good dealer will install the unit, configure it the way you want it to work, train you how to use it and be available for support in the future.
I chose to build the system a little bit at a time and I think the first question to ask is if you can conceive ever wanting to use the
system for planting. Most people want a system that's more accurate than an entry (WAAS only) level system. With the $2000 more expensive display one would get an upgradeable receiver. Also one gets the ability to be a advanced planter monitor, variable rate application, and a whole host of money draining options.
To answer your question one would need a display, a receiver, an antenna, and a boom control module. Most Entry level units have the receiver included in the display and you buy the display and antenna as a kit. | |
