N FLA | I'm with you. I'll sell larger calves and some of these last calf cows like big teats and those missing teeth when we come off here. I will roll the dice on many of the cows and keep them into the spring. I will dump the bulls in and see which ones wind up bred come May. So basically any calves we don't sell in November I will plan to keep until April. Maybe a little too long for some. Then cull out fat open cows. Maybe hit that 1.27 cull market again next summer. I should probably throw the bulls in now. But I'm trying to get the heavy lactation season next to match the winter grazing. | |
