Subject: Case 1688 concave question

Lloydminster Sask.
Hello folks, I have a 1688 combine with wide wire concaves and they have 3 cover plates on the from the front so essentially it is half covered/open. I bought this combine last fall on an auction and my question is how are these for combining canola? I have always thought that I need narrow wire concaves for canola but I see the last crop this combine took off was Canola. I actually bought new harvest services narrow wire concaves from fyfe parts for it and havn't installed them yet. Doesn't the wide wire concaves bring in a pile of trash to the grain tank?

TIA for any advise.
