Ridgway, IL | We weighed them all at approx 120 days, they had gained at a rate of 3.7lb per day at that point (not taking any shrink) using the scales on the squeeze chute. That was when we were giving the terminal implant.
I had hoped they were going to finish up at 3.3 lb per day, but like I mentioned this is an improvement over what I had previously done so i feel like progress is being made. I'd just like to tweak a few things to get that next level of performance...
Another thing on the adg, the cattle have an over 300 mile ride from here to the kill plant, plus a 12 hr stand, so I'm guessing there is some shrink.
We have fed wet gluten before, but ethanol plants are closer so we tend to favor wdg as it most often lands at cheaper prices.
